Prophet Elijah

The holy and great Prophet Elijah of the Old Testament performed many miracles including the closing of the heavens for 3.5 years and raising  a widow's dead child back to life.  Prophet Elijah was also present at the Lord's Transfiguration. He is the patron saint of our neighborhood with our main church named in his honor. We draw much courage from his  boldness and purity of spirit for the Lord.

Saints Anargyroi

The Holy Unmercenaries (Saints Anargyroi), Saints Damian and Cosmas, are third century saints, twin brothers and physicians. "Anargyroi" in Greek means "without silver" since they healed people without receiving payment. The Roman Emperor Diocletian tormented and beheaded them both. Their bravery and generosity guide us. The chapel at our Home for the Elderly is dedicated to these holy martyrs.

Saint Porphyrios

A small chapel in the main church is dedicated to this great and dearly beloved modern saint. Saint Porphyrios received the Grace of God at a young age. He performed miracles, had the gift of clairvoyance and led many people back to the Lord. He tenderly reminded the world, "God loves us very much; He has us in His mind each and every moment and He protects us, we should know this and not be afraid of anything."

"But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

- Luke 14: 13 - 14
